More than just a place to stay, Cerquido is a destination, a vision of a village, a living example of community. A place where you can discover the best of our culture, into rural ways of living. A place where you can relate to the locals and their stories. All spaces are made up of people, feelings and connections, that’s the only way it makes sense!

The scent of freshly brewed coffee, the smell of hot bread coming out of the oven, the warmth of a blanket on a garden bench. Aromas, tastes and memories that make us feel Saudade, that word so very much Portuguese. It’s a sense of comfort, of fond memories, a feeling of belonging, even far away from home. Here we welcome guests as we are welcoming friends!
TIMELESS
The mountains give us lessons in humility and visions of greatness. Here it seems that time has stopped and that we have time again to breathe and to feel. No rush, just because. A place of secular nature, where the air is cleaner and the heart purer. Where we are gracefully forced into stillness and contemplation.

Mountains and Countryside
The climb up the mountain becomes exciting in anticipation of what awaits us. Upon arrival, we were overwhelmed by the vastness. The Cerquido, fondly guarded by the few who still live here, watches over the Lima valley and shelters ancient paths, calming the soul and awakening the senses. Whoever passes here can’t help falling in love with it and we were no different. Years and years going up the mountain and feeling that this special place deserved to be shared.
Memory
Memory is what distinguishes and brings us closer. Here we connect generations, embrace ancestral landscapes, the work of the land and rural ways of life. Houses that were once refuges for wounded hands by agricultural work and feet tired from long kilometers travelled uphill with cattle. Remnants of memory that contemporary times have camouflaged. And that today we seek to recover.
We immortalize the legacy of the ancients, which we do not forget, balanced with design traits that transport us to today. Live without forgetting!
